Work in progress self-portrait assignment for class. Done in Sai as a quick paint job since this is only a small part of the actual mixed-media assignment I’m doing which I hope will look at least half as good as it does in my head. It involves, buttons-magnets, glass magnets, a baking pan, shadow cut out, and this doodle.
And the eyes are closed because 1) it’s easier and 2) I wanted a certain look and wanted people to focus more on what will be going on behind the pic.
Design HW - Value assignment with a grid. Had soooo many possible people to draw… My indecisiveness almost led to catastrophe. Matt Bomer won out in part because I was short on time, my bf picked for me, and he’s just so damn pretty XD. Appropriate too since tonight is the Season finale. Sadly I’m no good at drawing real people and I can’t do his handsomness justice… But, this is really only my 3rd attempt ever and for 8 hrs of work, I’m pretty happy with it (that’s fast for me since I’m suuuuper slow). And hey, you can at least tell who it is. That’s a win right there.
And no, a less blurry photo wouldn’t make this any better lol.

Quick print of Robin from the Young Justice cartoon. The show is definitely good, but I admittedly watch it mostly for Robin (Dick Grayson, my favorite Robin). Although I’d still watch it if it had Tim because he needs more luv.

Doodle of Starfire from class and while I was waiting for my haircut. Wanted to draw her looking like her awesome self and not the crazy stupid portrayal of her in the DC reboot. She has the right to choose her lovers, but really DC? You guys seem rather like seriously creepy losers right now. Not a great doodle esp. since I had no references for her at all and my memory’s quite shoddy. Maybe one day I’ll redo it… maybe.

Finally finished my Darker than Black Fanart. I’m not really a big Hei x Yin fan, but especially after watching Gaiden and reading the manga, I can see that they have a special relationship. And really, Yin is kind of all Hei has left. If only he would realize how kick-ass Misaki can be lol.
